Niek Strohmaier

I started studying psychology at Utrecht University in 2008 and from the second year on, I specialized in social psychology and organizational psychology . During my undergraduate years, and especially while working on my bachelor thesis, I became more and more enthusiastic about becoming a researcher myself, which ultimately led me to opt for the Social and Health Psychology research master. My bachelor research, which was supervised by Henk Aarts, investigated the effects of undermining free will beliefs on the functioning of the motor feed-forward system, a system involved in the prediction of the sensory consequences of people’s actions. I received my Bachelor’s degree in early 2011 and as of September 2011, I started with my master studies, as well as working for the Goallab as a research assistant.
