Manuel Oliveira

Manuel Oliveira obtained his Master’s degree in Social and Organizational Psychology from ISPA–University Institute (Lisbon, Portugal). His master thesis focused on assimilation and contrast effects between the fundamental dimensions of social perception. From 2011 to 2014 he was a Research Assistant at the University of Lisbon and at ISCTE-IUL. In 2015, he started his PhD in Social Psychology at the ISPA–University Institute, William James Centre for Research, under the supervision of Teresa Garcia-Marques, Ron Dotsch, and Leonel Garcia-Marques. In 2016 he came to the Utrecht University to work on his project with Ron Dotsch.  

In my PhD project I investigate the role of valence, impression formation goals, and social stimuli modalities in the relationship between the fundamental dimensions of social perception, using social psychophysical methods to tap into the representational content of these dimensions.
